A Better Setting

A better setting for important conversations.

Some meetings deserve more than a conference room. Malarky was designed for smaller executive groups who want a setting that feels private, relaxed, and memorable without losing professionalism.

Whether you're hosting a leadership retreat, a board offsite, a client dinner, a partner celebration, or a milestone recognition event, the experience naturally feels more personal on the water.

With only your group onboard, conversations stay focused, the atmosphere stays relaxed, and the entire charter feels intentionally designed around the people attending.

The 12-Guest Advantage

Why smaller groups work better on the water.

Malarky is intentionally designed around intimate groups of up to 12 guests. That smaller scale changes the entire experience.

Instead of guests splitting into separate conversations across a crowded venue, everyone stays connected. Discussions feel more natural, relationship-building happens more easily, and the atmosphere stays genuinely personal.

For executive teams, client entertainment, and leadership groups, that intimacy becomes one of the biggest advantages of the charter. The setting creates enough separation from the office to help people relax, think clearly, and actually enjoy being together.

The Yacht

Meet Malarky.

Malarky is a spacious 47-foot Voyage sailing catamaran designed for comfort, privacy, and smooth cruising across San Diego Bay. The wide catamaran layout creates an incredibly stable ride, making the yacht feel more like a floating private lounge than a traditional boat.

Onboard features

The indoor lounge is especially popular during executive charters, a comfortable space for conversations, presentations, meals, or relaxing away from the sun while still taking in the panoramic bay views.

The Bay

Cruise San Diego Bay.

San Diego Bay creates one of the most impressive backdrops for executive events in Southern California. Popular sights during executive charters include:

Coronado Bridge

One of the most iconic landmarks in San Diego and a stunning backdrop during sunset and evening charters.

Downtown Skyline

As the city lights reflect across the harbor, the bay creates an atmosphere that feels upscale and relaxed at the same time.

USS Midway

The historic aircraft carrier docked along the Embarcadero gives the harbor a uniquely San Diego backdrop during the cruise.

Shelter Island & Harbor Island

Marina-lined waterfront areas known for luxury yachts, waterfront hotels, and incredible harbor views.

The route stays flexible throughout the charter based on your group, timing, weather, and the kind of experience you want from the event.

Client Entertainment & Retreats

Client dinners and leadership retreats that actually land.

Executive dinners and client events are often remembered because of the setting as much as the conversation. A sunset yacht charter on San Diego Bay creates an atmosphere that feels elevated without becoming overly formal. Cruise beneath the Coronado Bridge while the skyline lights up around the harbor, enjoy catered dinner and wine onboard, and host conversations in a setting that feels private from start to finish.

Unlike restaurants or hotel venues, there are no crowds nearby, no neighboring tables, no interruptions, and no outside noise competing with the experience. The entire yacht belongs exclusively to your group for the duration of the charter, one of the reasons executive groups continue to come back to Malarky for leadership events and client entertainment.

For board offsites and leadership retreats, the relaxed setting helps teams step outside the normal office environment while still creating space for productive conversations and planning sessions. Common formats:

The indoor lounge works well for presentations and discussions; the outdoor deck spaces naturally open up room for smaller conversations, breaks, meals, and networking. Most executive groups book 4 to 6 hour charters to combine working sessions with catered meals, sunset cruising, and downtime on the water.

Captain & Crew

Concierge-style captain & crew.

Every executive charter includes a professional USCG-certified captain and experienced onboard crew. Your captain handles navigation, anchoring, timing, and route planning while the crew creates a smooth, effortless experience throughout the event.

The crew handles:

Because the charter is designed for smaller groups, service naturally feels more attentive and personal than a large public cruise. Professional discretion is part of the experience, and private booking accommodations are available on request.

The USCG captain is $50/hour, paid directly to the captain at the end of your charter.

Catering & Corporate

Catering, drinks, & corporate coordination.

Executive charters aboard Malarky are fully customizable around your event style. Bring your own:

We also work with a roster of local San Diego caterers familiar with the yacht and the dock for groups who'd rather have full catering coordination handled. Mention catering when you book and we'll send menu and pricing options.

Corporate invoicing, purchase orders, and split billing are available for company bookings. Email info@malarkycharters.com with your PO details and we'll return an invoice within 24 business hours. Net 30 standard for established corporate accounts.

A couple of house rules for BYOB: please, no drinking from glass on deck (pour into the plastic cups we provide), and no red wine (it stains the deck). See the full BYOB charter details for more.
Privacy

Privacy & professionalism.

Privacy is one of the biggest reasons executive groups choose private yacht charters over traditional venues. Your group has exclusive use of the yacht for the duration of the charter, a setting where conversations can stay comfortable and private.

Malarky offers:

The experience feels professional without feeling corporate, which is exactly what most executive teams are looking for.

For corporate events of 13 to 100 guests (sales kickoffs, holiday parties, full-team offsites, larger client entertainment), our sister vessel Triton Charters is the right boat. 75-foot power catamaran, two bartenders, full dance floor, larger crew. The deciding question is the guest count.

Executive Events

Perfect for executive events.

Popular executive charter experiences include:

Client Dinners

A more memorable alternative to traditional restaurants and private dining rooms. The setting becomes part of the conversation.

Leadership Retreats

Bring executive teams together in a relaxed environment designed for real conversations, away from the office for the day.

Board Offsites

A private, distraction-free setting for focused discussions and planning sessions. Indoor lounge works as a meeting space; deck for breaks.

Milestone Celebrations

Perfect for partner promotions, retirement dinners, founder celebrations, and company milestones that deserve more than a restaurant booking.

Investor & Partner Meetings

An elevated setting that leaves a lasting impression while still feeling comfortable and personal for the people in the room.

Frequently Asked

Executive charter questions, answered.

Twelve-guest cap, fully private (no shared boarding, no other groups), USCG-certified captain, indoor lounge for breakout conversations, discretion-trained crew, full BYO/catering flexibility, and a 47-foot Voyage catamaran that doesn't look or feel like a generic tour boat. The difference between "we rented a charter" and "we had a private floating venue for the evening."
Yes, frequent booking pattern. Half-day morning or afternoon sessions work well: 3 to 4 hour blocks with the indoor lounge as the meeting space and the deck for breaks. Bluetooth audio supports presentation playback; Wi-Fi via personal hotspots (the bay has reliable cell signal). Most boards book 4 to 6 hour blocks to fit a working agenda plus a meal. We can coordinate a working-lunch caterer or a sunset-dinner caterer depending on the session shape.
The most common executive booking. Catered dinner aboard, BYO premium wine and spirits, sunset on San Diego Bay as the deal-closing backdrop. We coordinate with caterers familiar with yacht delivery (short list available on request). For deal teams of 6 to 12, the venue becomes the differentiator, the client remembers the night, not the steakhouse.
Yes. We accept purchase orders, advance invoicing, and corporate billing. Email info@malarkycharters.com for invoicing setup; we typically process within 24 business hours. Standard payment terms are net 30 for established corporate accounts; deposit-plus-balance for new ones. We can also accommodate split billing if multiple departments or entities are funding the charter.
Triton is the right boat for 13 to 100 guest corporate events, full reception scale, two bars, dance floor, larger crew. Malarky is the right boat for 6 to 12 guest executive-tier events where privacy, intimacy, and 1:1 conversation quality matter more than venue scale. Same fleet of operators, different scale category. For your 60-person sales kickoff celebration, book Triton. For your CEO plus 10 direct reports offsite, book Malarky.
Yes. We don't operate a galley service, catering is your responsibility but we make it operationally easy. Partner caterers know the dock and the boat (we'll share a short list at booking). Caterers deliver to the Shelter Island marina 30 minutes before departure; we transfer everything aboard. The indoor lounge has bar-height counters that work for buffet setup; the cockpit table seats 8 for plated service. We provide ice, cooler, plates, and serveware on request.
Full deposit refund 21+ days prior, free reschedule up to 7 days prior subject to availability, non-refundable within 7 days. Weather-related flexibility is the standard exception on shorter notice. For board offsites or contracted retreats where multiple executives are blocking calendars, we recommend booking 4 to 6 weeks ahead and adding a soft-hold the same day the calendar invite goes out, we'll hold the date for 48 hours pending confirmation.
