Malarky Charters 47-foot catamaran under sail on San Diego Bay with the downtown skyline behind

What It Actually Costs

A private yacht for twelve, for about $34 a person.

The two-hour minimum is where most Black Friday charters land. Here is the whole bill, with nothing held back for the end.

2-Hour Charter	Normal	Black Friday
Boat, 2 hours	$1,100	$350
Captain, 2 hours	$100	$60
Total	$1,200	$410
Split 12 ways	$100 each	about $34 each

That is $790 off a two-hour charter. Going three hours instead? $615 all in rather than $1,800, a saving of $1,185. Both the $175 hourly rate and the reduced $30/hr captain rate are Black Friday pricing; the captain’s fee is normally $50/hr and is paid directly to your captain on the day.

Food and drinks are yours to bring, which is where a Malarky charter already beats a bar-tab boat. Twelve people drinking at retail prices instead of charter-bar prices is usually another few hundred dollars that stays in your pocket. See the BYOB charter details.

Purchase the Black Friday rate through the booking link while the sale is live.
Check your email. You will get a confirmation with your Black Friday / Cyber Monday code and instructions for applying it.
Book whenever you are ready. Apply the code to a private charter on any available date. There is no expiry on the code.

A couple of house rules once you are aboard: please, no drinking from glass on deck, and no red wine (it permanently stains the deck). Everything else is wide open, bring the food and drinks you actually want.

Questions

Black Friday questions.

Does the Black Friday code expire?

No. Buy now, book anytime. Once you purchase, you will receive a confirmation email with your code and instructions for applying it to a private charter. There is no expiry date on the code itself, though the sale that lets you buy it is only live for a limited time.

What does a Black Friday charter actually cost?

$175/hr for the boat, down from $550/hr, with a two-hour minimum. The captain is $30/hr during the sale rather than the usual $50/hr, paid directly to your captain. A two-hour charter comes to $410 all in, versus $1,200 at normal rates.

Can I use it for a holiday or a special event?

No. The offer is not valid for special events, holidays, or select holiday weekends. It also cannot be combined with any other offer, and it cannot be applied to a charter you have already booked. New bookings only.

Can I book more than two hours?

Yes. Two hours is the minimum. You are welcome to add additional hours, though extra hours beyond the code are charged at the full $550/hr rate. You cannot stack multiple Black Friday codes back to back to extend a charter.

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

Yes, and it is a big part of the value. Bring beer, wine, champagne, spirits, mixers, non-alcoholic drinks, takeout, charcuterie, whatever you like. Two rules: no drinking from glass on deck, and no red wine, which permanently stains the deck. See the BYOB charter details.

How many people can come?

Up to 12 guests. Malarky is a custom 47-foot catamaran, Coast Guard regulated for 12 passengers, and the charter is always private. No shared boarding, no other groups aboard.
